A Couplet of Poets

This week we will be announcing our Pamphlet Series Poets, the poets who we have signed to publish this Spring!

I have been thinking for a while how to introduce this series, as there are many different indie publishers whom I respect, who all have differing approaches. Some release an entire wave of poets per season, and some trickle-feed their readers with a singular release at a time. I think both approaches have their merits, but I wanted to really consider the way that we released this series, to maximise both marketing and reach potential, but also in a way that would allow me to work one-on-one with the Poets we’re publishing, really invest in their work and give each Poet the attention and celebration they deserve. I also didn’t want to take away from their process, their special moment of releasing a publication, of having their own launch party and be praised for their hard work. And so, I landed upon the idea of “a Couplet of Poets”

What is the collective noun for a number of Poets when that number does not exceed two? Well I think it’s a ‘couplet’ and that’s how we will be introducing our Pamphlet Series Poets, in couplets! (I know, cute right?) ??

This approach will allow Poets to feel as though they belong to a cohort, whilst still receiving attention from their Editor and publisher, and having focus on their own release.

There will be a ‘Couplet’ per season, so the Spring cohort will be released across March and April, and then following seasons will have their own ‘Couplet’ releases.

With all this said, Fawn Press’ first ‘Couplet’ will be announced in two parts, again to allow the Poets to have their own special moment for their pamphlet. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on our social media channels on Friday 21st Jan and Friday 28th!
